What can be done to prevent the condition?

Vaginal dryness can sometimes be prevented by treating the underlying cause. Following are some ways to prevent vaginal dryness.

  • Avoid irritating chemicals or products.
  • Control high blood pressure.
  • Follow treatment plans for diabetes and other diseases.
  • Obtain counseling for psychological problems.
  • Use hormone replacement therapy for menopause.
