What is Saxenda?
Saxenda is a subcutaneous injection, meaning that it’s injected just under the skin, and contains the active ingredient Liraglutide. For the best results, Saxenda is injected once a day and should be used in combination with a reduced calorie diet. A Saxenda pen will last between 6 days and 2 weeks, depending on the dosage that you require. Your dose will typically increase in increments of 0.1ml as the weeks go on up to the maximum 0.5ml per dose and starting from a low dose somewhere around 0.1ml. You can inject Saxenda with or without food but it should be taken at the same time every day and injected into the upper arm, thigh, or stomach.
